Peppina's homeis located in Linguaglossa on the slopes of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The house, completely renovated in 2022 following principles of hospitality and sustainability, owes its name to the homage that the current owner wanted to pay to her grandmother, who lived in this house many years ago. The house is furnished with taste and personality, with expert mixing restored antique family furniture and modern furniture and is equipped with all comforts.

There is a large living room-kitchen with a modern kitchen equipped with induction hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso machine. In the living room, in front of a 50-inch TV, there is a nice red sofa easily transforming into a double bed equipped with a comfortable 17 cm mattress, which adds 2 double beds to those in the two comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Then there are two modern bathrooms, one with a corner shower with hydro massage, washbasin with backlit and anti-fog mirror, toilet, bidet, and a second one with toilet, with shower / bidet, sink and washing machine, From the small veranda, covered with a glass canopy where you can sip an herbal tea or a good coffee, you access via a staircase to a large terrace, where with maximum privacy you can sunbathe or enjoy an excellent breakfast or an aperitif at sunset; the terrace overlooks the characteristic old rural houses of the Catena hamlet and the sciara (lava from Etna), which stopped in 1923 a few meters from the house. You can then admire the old lava colonized by the typical flora of Etna and the shrine dedicated to San Egidio, patron saint of the town of Linguaglossa, who is credited with the miracle of the lava that stopped before destroying the houses of the village. The terrace is equipped with table and chairs, sitting area, two comfortable deck chairs and umbrella, and is served by a lovely fountain. The house is equipped with hot-cold air conditioning heat pumps, which can be activated on request, and free of charge wi-fi. It also has a garage for bicycles and two mountain bikes available for guests. The house is equipped with bed linen and towels which can be changed on request and with a supplement. The house is complete with dishes, hairdryer and iron. In the house, smoking is not permitted. The surroundings and the possible excursions The house is located in a special place, where it is possible to go on vacation in all four seasons, indeed in all five seasons of Etna: • in the summer having the splendid sea of Taormina and Giardini-Naxos just a few kilometers away, but also enjoying excursions to Etna, Nebrodi or the Gorges of the Alcantara river, • in autumn, witnessing the harvest in the famous Etna vineyards (the house is in fact located on the road that leads to over 100 wineries, many of which can be visited for tastings); that season is also an optimal period for the collection of hazelnuts or chestnuts, and in the area there are also the highly prized Etna white porcini mushrooms (which can be harvested in compliance with regional legislation). • in winter with the unexpected and unique possibility of skiing in the morning at the Piano Provenzana-Etna Nord station and then in the evening eating fish in Taormina, all within a radius of less than 15 kilometers, • spring then, with its explosion of colors and scents, is perhaps the best time to devote yourself to art tourism, and from here you can enjoy the beauty of the nearby towns of Acireale with its Sicilian baroque, of the splendid medieval jewel of Randazzo, of the characteristic Castiglione di Sicilia crib town and Bronte home of the pistachio; finally do not miss a visit to the town of Linguaglossa which offers many beauties like the villa Milana with the scenic Fountain of the Moors and the church of the Immaculate Conception, which houses a finely carved wooden case of rare beauty (). • To all this is added the Fifth Season, which is unpredictable, variable and crosses the other 4, and can occur at any time: it is the so-called fire season, in which at any time the lava fountains emitted by the active volcano highest in Europe can offer the visitor a unique and breath-taking spectacle. Finally, do not miss a visit to the typical local markets where on sale there are many characteristic objects and excellent bargains can be struck: on Friday morning the Linguaglossa market, on Monday morning the Piedimonte Etneo market; larger and more well-stocked nearby markets, which offer a wider choice, are Thursday mornings in Giarre, Saturdays in Giardini Naxos and Sundays in Randazzo. The territory also offers a tasty typical cuisine with numerous restaurants and pizzerias for all budgets, from the very good takeaway places to even a starred restaurant. Catania and its airport are only 45 kilometers away.
